A fully-qualified accountant, Sue set up Net Accountancy with the aim of making her business different. She has built up the business on her personal philosophy of treating every client as an individual and taking a strong interest in the success of each of their businesses. Before setting up Net Accountancy, Sue worked for several other practices in the Nottingham area, gaining valuable experience in working with small and medium sized enterprises. Sue especially enjoys working with owner-managed businesses because of the passion they have for what they do.

Steve has built up many years of experience working with accountancy and tax planning organisations. His involvement in defending tax avoidance schemes against the Specialist Investigations arm of HMRC has given him a valuable insight into what HMRC considers as acceptable tax planning, and as blatant tax avoidance. Steve uses this specialist knowledge for our clients’ benefit when implementing and documenting their tax planning strategies. As Net Accountancy’s Staff Manager, Steve is also a key member of our management team and looks after staff development and training needs.

Karen studied Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Trent University, graduating with a BA (Hons) in 2003. She continued her accountancy training and qualified in 2007 as a chartered accountant. In 2009, Karen set up her own business and works with Net Accountancy as Accounts Manager on a sub-contracted basis. She is also a dance teacher, specialising in ballet and modern jazz. She enjoys dancing in her spare time, especially jazz, Irish and tap.

Another Accounting and Finance alumni, Nicola graduated from University in 2006. She then travelled for a year, during which she spent 6 months working for an Australian sales and marketing company. On returning to the UK, Nicola completed her ATT tax exams and is now studying to become a Chartered Certified Accountant. In her spare time she enjoys running and is currently training for her second marathon.

Kim works on the tax side of Net Accountancy and is working towards her ATT qualifications. She hopes to complete her training in 2012. Kim also looks after some of the day to day aspects of running the office, such as invoicing and setting up contracts. She also works on clients' bookkeeping and sole trader accounts. Kim graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling Practice in June 2011 and works as a volunteer counsellor for Cruse Bereavement Care in her spare time.

Tikva joined us in June 2010 after a couple of years spent working as a volunteer administrator for ChildLine. Her main responsibility is to oversee the smooth day to day running of the office.

Lewis is the newest member of our team and joined us as an apprentice Accounts Junior in 2011. He studied Business & Economics at college and is now working towards his accountancy qualifications at Babington Business College. Lewis hopes to become AAT qualified by 2013. As well as working on client accounts, Lewis also works with Kim and Tikva to help run the Net Accountancy office and provide administrative support to senior staff.
